Rodeo!!

Rodeo!!

“Well, it’s bulls and blood, It’s dust and mud, It’s the roar of a Sunday crowd.
It’s the white in his knuckles, The gold in the buckle, he’ll win next go ’round. It’s boots and chaps, It’s cowboy hats, It’s spurs and latigo.
It’s the ropes and the reins, And the joy and the pain, And they call the thang rodeo.” Garth Brooks, “Rodeo”, 1992

Arizona/Utah

Arizona/Utah

I sometimes think the most spectacular scenery in the world in right here in the U.S. Southwest. These photos are from a recent trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Canyon de Chelly in Arizona and Utah.

O’Keeffe Country–Black Place and Hoodoos

These locations are unmarked but not far from Abique, Georgia O’Keeffe’s home and studio in Northern New Mexico. O’Keeffe drew upon these landscapes for many of her paintings, particularly the undulating Black Place. O’Keeffe fans will recognize some of these settings.

Four Corners--New Mexico and Arizona

Four Corners–New Mexico and Arizona

The Four Corners region is perhaps the most concentrated scenic area in the US. These photos are mainly from Mesa Verde Canyon, Petrified Forest National Park, Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley.
